‘Just when you are getting comfy, you fall into deep sh*t.’
Inspired by two events playing in their current mind, the collection ‘To Kinder’ certainly mocks the intelligence of one. Whether a small sneak peak to their wonderland or simply just another chapter to celebrate their love for each other, the duo has come to see some raised eyebrows.
One, für die Kinder. SS18 is a gift to all children in the world. It is to urge them to stay calm when their worlds may seem shaky or more accurately, confusing. Just like when they have started feeling a foreign fiery and lusty burn when flipping through unusually interesting magazines; or during when the almost harmless sexual curiosity towards the human body kicks in. The secret obsession of letting one’s mind wander off to a new fantasy world soon grows into a monstrous addiction, whereby lust is understood as some form of pleasure and the urge to explore no longer remained alien. SS18 is as if a little nudge of encouragement to these children, to dive deep into their imaginations and to set themselves loose on each fold, layer and seam whilst exploring on a full capacity without feeling any trace of ridicule or guilt.
Two, to Kinder, the new member that came around long ago, but stayed hidden. The collection is visualized with the plain celebratory message of welcoming a new phase for the label. And having to experience the recent misfits, the duo believes that, even with the slightest clue, not all would happen accordingly. And realistically, most certainly not the way it was anticipated. With the core driven from dark folklores, the collection speaks about how it seems may differ wildly from what it is. Hints of subversive acts and details were plastered, slightly hiding the ever-growing sexual addiction that never fails to take charge.
‘To Kinder’ promises a whole new direction in which the duo had set sailed for the label. Signature aesthetics were spiced up with strong, attention-grabbing biker silhouettes, yet finishing off clean and sharp with the sleekness of conventional, matured pieces. It is about keeping the real balance, to please those adrenaline-seekers and themselves, and to reach the ultimate spot of pleasure. And surprisingly, they seek fun through so.
