Motoguo’s last season, ‘The Rite of Spring’ left a question mark, funnily intrigued its creators about the possibility of a sequel. So what happened after one died? Where does one go after the clapperboard snaps?
More specifically, what happened to the girl who was sacrificed during the rite?
In response to the insatiable demand for an answer, the duo presents this collection as imageries of the perfect world they have created for the deaths. Very much enlightened by Jim Woodring’s dark and brilliant cartoons, they believe that the new, foreign dimension is where the girl now lives in. It is such a place that one cannot imagine, as it is weird, perfectly distorted, unmistakably surreal and very much enviable. The duo could not care less in challenging the term ‘beyond imagination’, but instead they invite their dear viewers to see the different layers of the exploration and execution around their own creation and depiction of surrealism.
It is yet another sequel of telling a tale from a new perspective: through their eyes and someone else’s.
motoguo is an eponymous label that challenges peculiarity in the most romantic, cynical and ingenious manner since 2015.
